What's New? We Have a New Youth Minister!
I am
delighted to announce that after more than a year of active searching, we have
called a youth minister for St. Luke’s--Miguel Covarrubias. Miguel is a graduate of
I would like to thank our dedicated Youth
Minister Search Committee for their long hard work in this process. Special thanks go to our chairperson, Karen Collins,
for her exemplary leadership, positive attitude, and dedication.
I am especially pleased that we will be
able to start our program year with this exciting addition to our staff and our
youth program. Please pray for Miguel as
he deals with this transition and do what you can to make him feel welcome.
Start-Up Sunday is September 12 Join us for lots of fun on September 12. Church School kids will register at 9:30 am. During church we will have a blessing of the backpacks with a free gift for you to have in your backpack as you start school. We will commission our church school students and teachers and there will be a Ministry Fair and Hot Dog cookout after church for all. Bring a friend and be sure to come! Fr. Eric will not be in church Sunday, September 12. Instead he will be running in the Erie Marathon on Presque Isle. He is dedicating his run to the people of Haiti. If you would like to sponsor him, you can make a donation to Episcopal Relief and Development (ER-D) with note for "Haiti Relief." Send the checks to St. Luke's Church, 410 North Main Street, Jamestown, NY 14701. Or, you may also make the checks out to St. Luke's and he will forward them all together after the marathon.
